Arcadia eFuels completes the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), enabling Project ENDOR in Vordingborg, Denmark to reach Final Investment Decision (FID)

May 21, 2024

In May of 2024, Arcadia eFuels officially completed FEED for Project ENDOR in Vordingborg, Denmark, driving momentum to produce eSAF at scale. Since November 2022, the team has been working alongside our partners, Technip Energies and Hitachi Energy—which is providing the electrical infrastructure needed to power the facility—to reach this crucial stage. Key partners during the process include Plug Power, which will supply the electrolyzers for green hydrogen production, and Veolia, which will provide water treatment solutions essential for the fuel production process. FEED was completed utilizing our Single Point Licensor technologies, developed by Topsoe and Sasol for syngas production, Fischer–Tropsch and product hydrocracking.

Arcadia eFuels’ completely electrified plant will produce 80,000 tons of eFuels, remove an estimated 250,000 tons of CO2, and reduce an additional 250,000 tons of CO2 by producing green hydrogen. The unwavering support of Technip Energies, and the Vordingborg and Danish authorities has been instrumental in securing the necessary permits, optimizing the plant’s design for efficiency and sustainability, and ensuring alignment with Denmark’s broader climate goals.

“Completing FEED for Project ENDOR is a pivotal moment for Arcadia eFuels and the broader eFuels industry. It demonstrates that large-scale eSAF production is not just a concept, but a tangible reality within reach. This achievement underscores our commitment to decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors and marks a significant step towards a sustainable aviation future. We are incredibly proud of our team and our partners for their dedication and expertise in reaching this milestone,” says Amy Hebert, CEO at Arcadia eFuels.

Further collaboration will be necessary to reach FID and establish eFuels as the top alternative for decarbonizing the aviation and shipping industries.
